Tombigbee Federal Credit Union (TFCU) has as its mission the responsibility for providing an efficient, effective, and well-managed financial institution that meets the needs of its membership.  In order to accomplish this mission, the TFCU will continue a sound yet progressive asset management strategy and provide new and improved financial services to current and future members through membership input and management initiatives.

History and Structure

Tombigbee Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1966 as “True Temper Employees Federal Credit Union.  It was chartered to serve the employees of True Temper Sports in Amory and Olive Branch, MS as well as their immediately family members.  The intentions of the beginning charter was to give these members financial alternatives—higher market rates on savings and lower interest rates on loans.

In 2005 the field of membership part of the charter was changed to welcome persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in or volunteers in Monroe County, MS.  As a result, the credit union’s name of True Temper Employees Federal Credit Union was changed to Tombigbee Federal Credit Union to better reflect its field of membership.
